Moringa Soup Benefits for Vegetarians & Vegans
Moringa Soup Benefits for Vegetarians & Vegans
Moringa is an amazing “miracle” plant as it contains 17 amino acids, and all 9 essential amino acids, which makes it a complete protein, quite rare in the plants.
If you are vegetarian or vegan and feel strongly about staying this way during your postpartum recovery, I highly recommend adding the dried or fresh leaves to your soups, broths and meals. Protein rich meals, that are easy to digest and not made of soy products, is so important while you’re recouping from 9 months of pregnancy, birth and sustaining breastfeeding.
Moringa is a tree from South Asia, and parts of Africa and the leaves are harvested for its amazing source of nutrients. Some other nutrition it contains are:

I am lucky enough to have a small Moringa tree growing and also access to an abundance from a local lady. I dried a heap in the dehydrator and now add to my nourishing soups.
You can purchase dried Moringa leaf in Australia, as opposed to the powder.
An option is to have the powder, but I’ve not explored how to incorporate this without being in a cold smoothie, which is not recommended during postpartum recovery. Capsules are available too, however be sure it’s 100% Moringa and without unnecessary fillers.
Please note: It has been noted that it may lower blood pressure, please consult your health care professional or herbalist if you’re unsure.
